PESHAWAR:

Light rain has been predicted across the province for two days and the temperature is likely to drop by two degrees. The forecast was made by Pakistan Meteorological Department Peshawar chapter.

“Westerly winds have entered the region from Afghanistan and are expected to stay in the province, in Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Malakand Division and parts of Hazara Division,” PMD Peshawar Director Mushtaq Shah told The Express Tribune on Friday. “The system is likely to cause minimal rain in various parts of the region at separate intervals.”

Shah added the showers will probably measure between five to 10 millimetres, and are likely to decrease the temperature in the areas where it will fall. He said they have forwarded information about the possible rain but since it does not seem to be of high intensity, they have not issued any warnings.

“The maximum temperature in Peshawar is 30 degrees Celsius presently and it will drop to 25 degrees during the rain. After the rain, it will be around 27 or 28 degrees.” He added the system entered the province on Friday and will stay for another two days.
