FAISALABAD:

“Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is responsible for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s demise…this is evident from the PML-N’s near defeat in the NA-122 election,” Chaudhry Sher Ali, father of State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali, said at a press conference on Thursday.

The former mayor of Faisalabad alleged that Law Minister Rana Sanaullah was involved in as many as 20 murders in Faisalabad. “He is an unrepentant lawbreaker and is not loyal to the PML-N…he has proved that time and again.” Ali also accused lawmakers supporting Sanaullah of having dubious characters. “The party’s leadership needs to take immediate notice of them. Otherwise, I will take drastic steps to bridle these fake tigers.” The PML-N might just have to face a crushing defeat in the coming local government elections because of the party’s in-fighting, Ali said. “We are die-hard PML-N workers and haven proven our loyal to the party several times. However, there are elements in the party that are forcing us to resign. The party’s Punjab leadership doesn’t have the guts to throw us out of the party, so they are trying their best to side-line us.”

Ali said if the PML-N had continued in their callous attitude towards them, Abid Sher Ali would have no option but to leave his ministry.

“The citizens of Faisalabad are aware of the countless sacrifices my family has made. We made Faisalabad a bastion of the PML-N, Ali said.

Commenting on the allegations raised against him, Sanaullah said Ali had a habit of ranting like a maniac. “The allegations are false…Ali just wants the party leadership to appoint his son the mayor of Faisalabad. He has been blackmailing me and Shahbaz Sharif in this regard.” He said the mayor-ship of Faisalabad wasn’t something one inherited. “If Ali is truly sincere towards the party, he should leave the decision regarding Faisalabad’s mayorship to PML-N’s leaders.”
