Level playing field: 4 towns to get new sports complexes
PESHAWAR:
The district government plans to establish sports complexes in four towns of Peshawar district to encourage people to participate in sporting activities. Speaking to The Express Tribune, Peshawar district nazim Muhammad Asim Khan said the complexes will be established in Naguman, Pishtakhara, Meera Kachori and Rasheed Garhi. “Each sports complex will be built on 40 kanals of land and its construction will be completed in a year,” he said. “We also plan to renovate the picnic spot at Wazir Bagh and establish a football academy in Tehmas Khan Football Ground.” According to the nazim, football training will be offered to budding athletes under the supervision of coaches. “These training sessions will be free,” he added.
