KARACHI:

An anti-terrorism court remanded on Wednesday two more suspects allegedly involved in an attack on traffic police constables. The suspects, identified as Latif Ahmed, alias Pathan, and Shiraz, were arrested based on leads given by two other suspects in mid-September. According to the investigators, Ahmed, confessed to attacking traffic constables performing duty on main thoroughfares in the city. All four suspects have been accused of injuring a constable by opening fire at him in the North Nazimabad area. Investigations are underway, as it is suspected that the accused are also involved in other similar activities, a police officer told the court, seeking an extension in the remand of the suspects. The ATC-II judge allowed the police to keep the custody of the two newly arrested suspects for two weeks for further questioning but sent the two others to jail on judicial remand.
