World Economic Forum ranks Pakistan as fourth most dangerous country for aid workers with Afghanistan on top of list

Pakistan ranks among the worst countries in the world for aid worker’s to work in, according to a recent report conducted by The World Economic Forum (WEF).

The report titled 'The 10 most dangerous countries for aid workers' ranked Pakistan as the fourth most dangerous country with a total of 93 attacks on aid workers over the last 10 years.

The report was issued on the basis of data collected between 2004 to 2014 with Afghanistan being on top of the list followed closely by Sudan and Somalia.

In Afghanistan alone there were 430 attacks in the country which resulted in 57 workers losing their lives last year. Meanwhile, Iraq was ranked 10th with merely 40 attacks on aid workers.

Further, the report stated that altogether in 2014, 190 attacks occurred across 27 countries, killing 120 aid workers while 88 others were wounded and 121 were kidnapped.

Earlier this year, eight Pakistani cities were listed among 64 cities from around the world that are at an “extreme risk” of terror attacks.

The index after assessing 1,300 of the world’s most important commercial hubs and urban centres by the likelihood of a terror attack, ranked the cities as Peshawar (7), Quetta (9), Hassu Khel (10), Karachi (16), Rawalpindi (27), Lahore (29), Sukkur (24) and Islamabad (44).

Military and incompetent politicians continue to brain wash public that they are doing quite well and its only foreign forces who are preventing them from becoming prosperous. Hoping for a people revolution in the country to become a real Democratic country.
