“A potential target list has been found bearing names of people belonging to media, such as prominent anchor persons, fashion designers, showbiz personalities and persons working in NGOs having foreign links,” a report released from the office of DIG Police South Zone Dr Jamil Ahmed said.

According to the report, “the purpose of target killing of these personalities is their liberal way thinking and living.”
“On the other hand target killing of such personalities is also to gain widespread publicity of their nefarious activities… to get wide publicity and create panic in the society,” it added.
The police report said the aforementioned personalities could be a soft target of terrorists due to their frequent movement and involvement in general public.

Further, the report called on SSP South and City Districts to caution the above mentioned to “remain cautious during their movement.”
“Adequate security would be provide to preempt any untoward incident,” it added.
