Severed ties: Four killed, two injured in personal disputes

At least four people were killed while two others were injured in separate incidents in Swabi on Monday. A man was allegedly killed over a dispute at a musical show on Monday night in Yar Hussain area of Swabi District. According to the police, the accused, Munib, opened fire on his friend, Bilal. The victim died on the spot. The assailant managed to escape. An FIR was registered and investigation is under way.

One axed to death

Meanwhile, three men were attacked with an axe over a dispute between children. Rahat Ali told police that the accused, Gulbaz Jabbat Khan, attacked Rahat, Mir Wali and Hidayat Ali with an axe to resolve a scuffle that took place among their children. The injured were shifted to the hospital where Hidayat Ali succumbed to his injuries. An FIR was registered and further investigation is under way.

Honour killing


In a separate incident, a couple was killed over honour in Topi, Swabi on Tuesday.



According to the Topi police, Maneri Bala resident, Arooj, had been solemnised to marry her cousin Sultan. “Arooj was not happy with the marriage resulting in conflict between them,” he added.  “She later eloped with her other cousin, Abbas Bahadur, two months ago and took asylum in their uncle’s house in the Kotha area of Topi, Swabi.” The couple reportedly married after their elopement. However, Sultan and his accomplices traced the whereabouts of the couple and assaulted their residence, killing both Arooj and Abbas. The assailants fled the scene. An FIR was registered and investigation is under way.
