LAHORE: The Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith (MJAH) on Saturday announced support for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidates in the upcoming by-elections in NA-122 and PP-147. The decision was announced by MJAH central amir Prof Sajid Mir at a press conference at the residence of former MPA Haji Abdul Razzaq in Dharampura. Mir said he had asked the MJAH Lahore leaders to join the PML-N candidates in their election campaign. He said Sardar Ayaz Sadiq could have avoided the by-election by challenging the election tribunal verdict in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Instead, he said, Sadiq had decided to return to the people of his constituency. “Imran Khan should lead his party’s campaign but he should avoid pointing fingers at the courts and the Election Commission of Pakistan,” he said. Mir was accompanied by  MJAH nazim Hafiz Abdul Kareem. Earlier, the Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) and the Jamiat Ulema Pakistan-Niazi faction (JUP-Niazi) had announced support for the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf candidates in the NA-122 and PP-147 by-polls.
