KRL finish second in football league

KARACHI: Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) drew against Pakistan International Airline (PIA) 0-0 to secure second place in the Pakistan Premier League (PPL). KRL, who lifted the PPL title in 2009, finished this year’s edition with 58 points after 30 matches, while PIA are third with 57 points.

Meanwhile, Karachi Port Trust (KPT) also drew their match against Pakistan Army 2-2. Muhammad Bin Younus scored a brace for KPT in the second half, while Army replied through Noor and Muhammad Ikram after they scored in the 53rd and 77th minutes.

With this win, Army are placed fourth with 54 points. However, Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation (KESC) can replace them if they win against Wapda today.

Wapda have already been confirmed the PPL champions with 67 points and will play their last match of the tournament against KESC, who are fifth in the league with 52 points.
