RAWALPINDI: The hearing on the currency smuggling case against model Ayyan Ali will resume on Monday (today). Ali is expected to be indicted, for which a three-point charge-sheet has been prepared by customs officials. The Rawalpindi bench of the High Court recently termed the arrest warrants against Muhammad Owais and Mumtaz Hussain as void. Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti and Justice Mehmood Ahmed Bhatti cleared Owais and Hussain, the property purchaser and dealer, respectively, involved in the case. In his written statement to customs officials, Owais said he bought Ali’s property for $56,800, which he paid the model. In his statement, Hussain claims to have been the intermediary to the transaction between Ali and Owais. The two formerly accused persons are now witnesses for Ali in the case.
