CM says banned outfits shouldn’t be allowed to collect hides

LAHORE: Foolproof security around places of worship should be ensured during Eid holidays, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Thursday.

He was presiding over a meeting.

The chief minister said law enforcement agencies should maintain law and order on Eid.

He said walkthrough gates, metal detectors and scanners should be installed near Eid congregations.

The chief minister said senior police officers should monitor security arrangements through a centralised control room.

He said search operations on intelligence gathered by agencies should continue.

“District administrations and police should enforce rules for collection of animal hides,” he said.

The chief minister said banned outfits should not be allowed to collect hides.

Agriculture relief package

The chief minister said development of the agriculture sector was a top priority of the government. He was addressing a meeting.

He said under the prime minister’s relief package for farmers, financial assistance would be offered to small cultivators.

The chief minister said survey of the area under cultivation for provision of financial assistance to small farmers should be completed timely.

“Delay in distribution of financial aid for farmers will not be tolerated,” he said.

The chief minister said a technical committee comprising representatives of the Punjab Information Technology Board, Urban Unit, SUPARCO and the Land Record Management Information System should assist the cabinet committee in the survey and distribution of financial assistance.

Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Farrukh Javed, Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, the chief secretary and senior members of the Board of Revenue were also present.
