Despite having wide web of connections with provincial leaders and workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Sindh, a spokesperson for Aiwan-e-Sadr said on Wednesday that President Mamnoon Hussain will not lead the party’s election campaign for the local government elections in the province. In a statement, Mamnoon’s spokesperson said that due to the president’s long political career, a number of PML-N members wanted to meet him in their individual capacity. And when office-bearers of the PML-N Sindh chapter came to Islamabad, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif requested the president to informally meet them. The spokesperson added that as a symbol of the federation, the president was above party politics and has no political motives.
