Five-year-old Basma Mohammad Faisal is suffering from multiple disorders and needs to go through a liver transplant. Basma’s father, Mohammad Faisal Raza, a sales manager, said he has drained all his fortune on the treatment of his daughter during the past few years.

“Last week, she was again admitted to the Royal Hospital, but since I couldn’t afford her treatment, I decided to take her out after she was little better,” he said.
Speaking to the Times of Oman, Raza said he was thrilled to know that so many people want to help him. “I was a dead man walking in the streets of Oman. But now I have become alive with the blessings of everybody,” he said.

Other than hundreds of calls from Oman and UAE, some companies and private hospitals had already offered to help him. His own company too has offered to assist him.
Expressing his gratitude, Raza said he feels blessed that people read about him and are interested in helping him.
“Thanks to all the good-hearted people, I’m sure that she will recover very soon,” he said.
Raza plans to take his daughter to India for the liver transplant at an approximate cost of $45,000 to $50,000 for the treatment alone. “I will be applying for medical visas soon at the Indian Embassy in Muscat,” he said.
Raza's eldest daughter, Asfa Mohammed Faisal was also suffering from liver cirrhosis like Basma, and died in 2004. “At that time also, the doctors had suggested a liver transplant, but we could not afford her treatment and she died,” said Raza. Raza has been working in the Sultanate of Oman since 1991.
