The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday directed Barki police to register a land grab case.
Justice Farrukh Gulzar of the LHC was hearing a petition filed by Amna Javed, an overseas Pakistani. The petitioner said that she had brought three shops in a private housing colony. “Shahid Butt, Mansha Gumman and Ali Athar prepared forged papers of the shops and took control of them,” she said in her petition. She said that she had requested Barki police to register a case against the accused. However, she said, police had neither registered a complaint nor taken any action.
On Thursday, Barki SHO Naveed Ahmad appeared before the court. The court reprimanded him and directed him to register the case. The hearing was then adjourned till September 21.
