LAHORE: Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Khwaja Salman Rafique said on Sunday a 3-day national campaign against polio would be started on Monday (today). More than 18 million children up to five years of age would be administered polio vaccine drops during the campaign, he said. He said vitamin A dose would be given to children six months of age. Rafique said no polio case had been detected in the province this year. He said the Health Department had constituted 39,877 polio teams for the campaign. He said nearly 35,000 mobile teams would also administer the drops to children across the province. He said special teams had been deputed at railway stations, bus terminals, airports and toll plazas to vaccinate children. Rafique appealed to parents to ensure that their children were vaccinated against the disease. He said no negligence would be tolerated in the campaign.
