Godil was discharged from the hospital on Friday afternoon, almost three weeks after surviving an attack near his home.

The doctors of Liaquat National Hospital (LNH), where he was admitted, allowed Godil to be released from the hospital a few days back but the political leader delayed leaving the facility till Friday due to security reasons.

“He is improving and in very good condition,” said the spokesperson of the hospital, Anjum Rizvi. He said Godil’s wounds were healing fast but he would have to visit the hospital for periodic check-ups according to his doctor.

Godil was left fighting for his life after he was critically wounded in an attack in Karachi’s Bahadurabad area on August 18. He was admitted at the LNH with gunshot wounds to his jaw, neck and upper torso, critically damaging his lungs.
