Real president Florentino Perez says French giants will have to break transfer record to sign the portuguese star

Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent club Real Madrid have demanded €1 billion from French football champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) saying that if they want him they have to bear the cost.

Real’s president Florentino Perez on Wednesday told PSG that if they want to make a move for the star forward they will have to pay the hefty amount.

“If PSG want Ronaldo, it’s easy, they have to pay the release clause, 1 billion euros. No one is a prophet in football but we don’t want to sell him in 2016. There are still three years left on his contract,” Perez was quoted as saying by Spanish radio Cadena COPE.

The French club have long been trying hard for a long time now with a move for the Portugal international, Real’s attacking spearhead and the team’s marquee player, and there has been speculation that they could make a move for the forward in the upcoming season.

But Perez was of the view that the French Ligue 1 team will have to break the transfer record to sign the star forward.

The transfer amount record is currently set by Real Madrid having signed Wales international Gareth Bale for ₤86 million ($132 million) in 2013.
