Kidnapped and killed: Bodies of six more TuI volunteers found

Government officials have not confirmed the discovery of corpses till the filing of this report

The bodies of six kidnapped volunteers of Tauheed-ul-Islam (TuI) from a total of 11 allegedly taken hostage by Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) were recovered from the Qamarkhel area of Bara in Khyber Agency on Tuesday. Earlier the bodies of five of the 11 kidnapped persons had been recovered from the same area on Monday.


Local sources said that on Friday, the 11 members of TuI, a pro-government group were en-route to Tirah, Khyber Agency. When they reached Sandapal area of Khyber Agency, some unknown armed men kidnapped them.


The sources added that subsequently, Lashkar-e-Islam spokesperson Salahuddin Ayubi claimed responsibility for the kidnappings.


The sources concluded that while the remaining six bodies were discovered from the same area on Tuesday, no one had yet claimed responsibility for the killings. Government officials have not confirmed the discovery of corpses till the filing of this report.
