
A tribal elder was killed by unidentified assailants in Chaharmang area of Nawagai, Bajaur Agency on Monday.
An official of the political administration told The Express Tribune that Mullah Amanullah, a pro-government tribal elder, was killed in the targeted attack. The administration launched a search operation in the area. However, no arrests were made till the filing of this report.
This is the seventh targeted attack on a pro-government tribal elder over the past few weeks in Bajaur.
Separately, a large cache of explosives were seized by the political administration in Khar on Sunday. The administration was informed by security agencies about the presence of an explosive-laden truck in the area. Consequently, they searched a truck standing in the bazaar and recovered 94 bags of explosives. Other material found from the truck included prima cords which are used to make IEDs. The truck driver was arrested. They have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
