India must not mistake our patience on ceasefire violations as weakness: PM

PM inaugurates several development projects, including sports stadium, in AJK

BAGH, AJK: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has warned India not to mistake Pakistan’s silence on the neighbouring country’s ceasefire violations as a sign of weakness.

Addressing a public gathering in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), the premier said, “Our patience on India’s ceasefire violations must not be taken as a sign of weakness.”

The prime minister is in the Bagh district of AJK to inaugurate several development projects, including a sports stadium, which has been constructed by the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA).

“Unprovoked firing by Indian forces on the Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary took the lives of many innocent civilians of AJK and Pakistan,” the premier said, adding that Pakistan has not forgotten their sacrifices.

Declaring the wish of peace as the country’s greatest power, Prime Minister Nawaz informed participants of the gathering that Pakistan has continuously informed the United Nations (UN) about the ceasefire violations by Indian forces.

The prime minister expressed his concern over the bloodshed on the border and warned that it could destroy global peace.

“The bloodshed on the border may destroy global peace as the army is already fighting against terrorism to make the world more peaceful,” he said and added, “It is our mission to win the war against terror and give ‘peace’ as a gift to the world.”

Further, the prime minister promised to continue Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Karachi operation until all terrorists are eliminated and all street crimes in Karachi are rooted out. “All the organisations that were behind unrest in the country will be eliminated.”

Furthermore, PM Nawaz vowed to continue Pakistan’s support for the right to self-determination of Kashmiris, saying Kashmir runs in our blood.

The prime minister urged the international community to take notice of serious human rights violations by Indian forces in Indian administered Kashmir.

Earlier, the premier announced the construction of a cardiac hospital in Bagh, Kotli Sattain to Kalyari road and bridge on Jehlum River near Khawadar.

“The federal and Punjab governments will provide the required funds for these projects in the district,” he said.

Indians have taken our patience as weakness past few years - Its time we change our policy toward this hostile bully neighbor! Thanks Modi for bringing the liberals and conservatives of Pakistan on the same page - Something that would have taken years, you managed to achieve it in a year. Not a single liberals says lets have peace with Indian since they know now no one wants to hear their crap and Indians think they are superpower when we talk peace! Sandip | 9 years ago | Reply “It is our mission to win the war against terror and give ‘peace’ as a gift to the world.” After gifting terrorism and it's accompanying bloodshed to the world now you want to gift (sic!) peace. A welcome change if it happens! Let's see you walk the talk. From whatever the world is witnessing on your eastern and western borders, the actions clearly belie the words. On both fronts, there seems to be a deliberate policy to keep the pot boiling even as you try to get rid of "bad" terrorists from your perspective.
