Peshawar blast kills 4 policemen

PESHAWAR: Four policemen were killed and 10 others injured in a blast at the Pir Bala police check post in Peshawar on Wednesday.

Initial investigations revealed the blast was not a suicide attack.

The blast completely destroyed the check post, and injured another 10 people.

It has been found that 250 to 300 kilograms of explosive materials was used in the blast.

Talking to Express, AIG Bomb Disposal Squad, Shafqat Malik said that a Toyota Hiace was used in the attack. The vehicle's engine has been found but the registration number had been erased.

No group has admitted responsibility for the attack so far.

On one side the role of police was being sabotaged by a series of videos that circulated media and on one side we have these brave men as our first line of defense against any attack on civilian population. We need to stand shoulder to shoulder with these policemen and extend all our support for them.
