PESHAWAR:

Government and private schools in various parts of the province will reopen on Tuesday (today) after three months of summer vacations.

An insider told The Express Tribune, the morning gong has already been heard in various schools in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Lakki Marwat, Tank and Kohat.

“A majority of private schools have already re-opened in some districts,” he said. “However, in Chitral district, vacations have been extended for another two weeks in view of the devastation caused in the region by heavy rain and flash floods.”

The provincial government has directed all district administrations to guarantee security at educational institutions. It has also urged them to not let schools which have failed to implement security measures to reopen. So far, an FIR has been registered against a private school in Khalilabad area of Regi in the city over the failure to make appropriate arrangements for the safety of students.
