Technical education: TEVTA praised for equipping youth with skills

Memon said the BISP had been providing a stipend of Rs1,500 a month to the deserving people

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon has said that the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) is offering demand-driven short courses to equip the youth with various skills.

Speaking at a meeting at the TEVTA Secretariat, Memon stressed the need for promoting vocational training saying that it was the key to creating employment opportunities.

Memon said the BISP had been providing a stipend of Rs1,500 a month to the deserving people. “The BISP beneficiaries can apply for technical and professional training in programmes being offered by the TEVTA,” she said.

Kenyan Youth Board | 8 years ago | Reply It's true that if the youth are equipped with the right market specific skills it would open up many doors for them as opportunities for getting jobs and competently using the skills acquired at the work place effectively. It is necessary to equip the youth with the relevant and specialized training to enable them to confidently take part in the growth and development of our country's economy and this is what we do a Kenyan Youth Board. We educate the youth members by providing effective entrepreneurial training courses that will impact the youth to hold the highest standard of work ethics and professionalism and in the end we do also provide industrial attachment and job opportunities. We also do provide to youth members effective entrepreneurship training courses and also do provide valuable information concerning trade and investment.
