Short-circuit: Cotton stockroom catches fire

The fire was controlled in 45 minutes, said a rescue official

RAWALPINDI: Fire engulfed a cotton stockroom near Asghar Mall College, Rawalpindi on Monday, Rescue 1122 officials said. The incident took place near the old police station at Asghar Mall Road at around 1:30pm due to a reported short-circuit in a machine. However, no injury was reported in the incident. The cotton house was being run by a 28-year-old man, identified as Adnan. He said there were materials worth an estimated Rs1 million in the warehouse at the time of the fire. The loss, however, is reported to be Rs100,000. The fire was controlled in 45 minutes, said a rescue official.
