Further, the army chief directed the authorities concerned to break the nexus between terrorists, criminal mafias, violence and corruption to ensure a peaceful and terror-free port city.

Earlier during the day, General Raheel visited the Yadgar-e-Shuhuda and Army Air Defence Centre in the city.
The army chief laid floral wreaths at Yadgar-e-Shuhuda and pinned badges of rank on shoulders of Lieutenant General Zamir Ul Hassan Shah and Adjutant General Pakistan Army to formally install him as Colonel Commandant of Army Air Defence.
The COAS was briefed about the ongoing training activities at the centre.

General Raheel arrived in Karachi on Monday evening as part of a scheduled visit to review the overall security situation amid the ongoing operation by the paramilitary Rangers and police.
