KARACHI: A two-member bench led by Justice Amir Hani Muslim has ordered for the murder case of renowned painter Gulgee, his wife and maid to be wrapped up in two months.

Gulgee’s daughter, who is based in the US, complained to the CJ in a letter about the delay. The CJ turned the letter into a constitutional application and constituted the two-member bench. On court notice, Special Public Prosecutor Muhammad Ashraf Qazi was nominated by the Law Department to appear before the court and inform it that the statements of four witnesses have been recorded so far.

Nine more witnesses remain. The court instructed him to present all of them at the next hearing. The SHC advised the lower court to announce its decision in two months. The police arrested driver Muhammad Akram and cook Muhammad Anwar at Gulgee’s house as suspects.
