ISLAMABAD:

An officer of the secretariat group has filed a contempt petition in the Islamabad High Court against the secretary Establishment Division and principal secretary to the premier for not complying with court orders regarding his promotion.

Shahzad Cheema, a grade-19 officer, filed the petition on Monday making Secretary Establishment Division Nadeem Arif, and Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Javed Aslam as respondents.

The petitioner has stated that the respondents were not implementing the court order praying the court to initiate contempt proceedings against them.

Earlier, the court on Cheema’s petition on July 7 had directed the respondents to issue the notification of his promotion within 15 days.

The petitioner had requested for the issuance of his promotion notification. However, neither the verdict has been implemented nor any response has been given, he stated.
