Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar briefs cabinet members on implementation of National Action Plan

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called a meeting of the federal cabinet at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad on Monday.

During the meeting chaired by the premier, issues pertaining to the overall political and security situation of the country came under discussion.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar briefed the meeting regarding the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) across the country. The interior minister informed the cabinet members about steps taken on the NAP and the government’s future course of action, the source added.

116 out of 120 items on the agenda of the meeting were approved.

The meeting also offered fateha for the deceased Punjab Interior Minister Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada.

Further, the meeting reviewed performance of different ministries besides discussing the access to information and cyber-crime bills.

Meanwhile, projects related to the China, Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and a summary of making Urdu the official language also came under discussion during the meeting.

Last week, PM Nawaz had chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of the NAP and the internal security situation of the country. The meeting attended by Army chief General Raheel Sharif had discussed internal security and NAP implementation.
