ABBOTABAD: Minister for Information Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani said the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has increased the job quota for minorities from 0.2% to 5%.

Speaking at the prize distribution ceremony for students who passed their intermediate exams with flying colours at the Abbottabad Presbyterian Church, Ghani said minorities have equally contributed towards the creation and well-being of the country.

He said the government is working towards bringing them into the mainstream by granting them rights at par with all other citizens. Ghani said the people of the country are all united on a single platform. “Mosques, churches and temples are all not spared by the terrorists,” he said. “I urge you to join hands with the government in fighting militancy and exhibit the same spirit you showed at the time of Pakistan’s creation.” About the steps taken by the government in this regard, he said security will be augmented and CCTV cameras will be installed at all places of worship.

Ghani said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will not be forming district governments in all areas and that every district will get its due share of development funds.

Ali | 8 years ago | Reply @Abdullah yes there shouldn't be quota system but certain measures are being taken in Western world to ensure Women for example get equal representation in all departments. Additionally Australians have wuota system for native aboriginal people as well. In certain cases, it is requited. Great job KPK gov & PTI!!
