LAHORE: Tis the season to eat, drink and be merry… but not without a few style checks in place and what’s a Christmas wardrobe like without red?

We don’t all have to look like Santa but since red is the hottest colour in vogue here are a few ways you can rock red without looking like you have emerged from a bottle of rouge. Whether it’s a Christmas ball, a formal soiree, a family meeting or just a close get together with friends, these unique desi takes on red will keep you style savvy from this year till the coming of the next.

This season has been all about the funky folk which this piece by Akif Mehmood epitomises. Wear it as a dress if you dare or if it’s too chilly  then add a pair of leggings and boots, and with that cap, you’ll look like Santa’s little minion at work.

This heavily embellished gown by Nida Azwer is perfect for a ball or party.

Flirty and fun, Sadaf Malatere’s dresses are any girl’s best bet. Fit for every kind of soiree this pleated shift dress is so sophisticated and cool that it requires no accessorising. It really is a fuss free solution to your wardrobe woes.

A classic piece by Kamiar Rokni, this ethnic dress cum kameez has the versatility to be worn at a fashionable do, a ball or even a wedding. Wear it with the season’s rage, a churidaar pajama, for a traditional twist or go without for a contemporary ethnic fusion look.

If being swathed in scarlet seems a bit over the top for you, opt for this Khaadi Khaas ikaat print dress that dextrously combines red, black, blue and mustard for a slightly boho yet chic look.

Osman Amed | 13 years ago | Reply Well, that was a really original article wasn't it? Did the so-called fashion writer not get the memo that red left the trend charts weeks ago? i guess not. This is such a waste of time to read, and disappointing compared to the other fashion articles which are usually published, which are usually of a higher level of quality and intellect. Also, didn't you guys run a piece on red before, when it WAS in fashion?? Just because it's Xmas, doesn't mean that we should just all start wearing red for the sake of it, we're not all Santa Claus!?!?
