An aircraft of the Saudi Arabian Airlines kept circling the airspace near Lahore on Friday as the pilot could not land the airplane for two and a half hours because of bad weather. Later, the Saudi flight was rerouted to touch down at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.
According to details, a flight of the Saudi Airlines from Jeddah to Lahore could not land due to bad weather. The aircraft kept circling the airspace over Kasur, Pattoki and Okara.
The air traffic controller asked the pilot to deflect the airplane to Multan or the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, but he reportedly refused and sought permission to touch down at the Lahore airport.
Following the refusal, the air traffic controller allowed the pilot to alter his route. He asked him to head to Sheikhupura and then land at the Lahore airport. The pilot finally arrived at the Lahore airport after two and a half hours.
