Search operation: Two Afghans among 26 suspects held

Kiani said the purpose of the search operation and high vigilance is to ensure foolproof security in the city

The Koral and Bhara Kahu police, on Friday, arrested 26 suspects including two Afghan nationals as they could not produce any identity documents, a police spokesman said. The teams screened residential areas, workshops, markets, hotels, slum areas, under-construction buildings and other places, said a press release. Police commandos including lady commandos, and women police also participated in the operation while sniffer dogs were also used in some areas.


The search operations were initiated following directions of Islamabad IGP Tahir Alam Khan and SSP Operations Sajid Kiani. Such search operations would continue in the coming days and complete combing of sensitive areas would be made, the spokesman maintained. Kiani said the purpose of the search operation and high vigilance is to ensure foolproof security in the city.
