KARACHI:
The murder of an intelligence officer and the attack on Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) parliamentarian Rashid Godil is a conspiracy to disturb the political and peaceful atmosphere of Karachi, said the information minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro.

Talking to the media on Tuesday, Khuhro said that these nefarious designs will be foiled and the government will not allow the city's peace to be disturbed. "This aims at sabotaging the government's efforts to bring peace to the city, but we are committed to maintain the law and order at any cost," he said.  According to Khuhro, a committee has been formed to investigate the attack on Rashid Godil and the law enforcement agencies will arrest the culprits. The minister further said that all the political parties, government and the law enforcing agencies were on the same page to eradicate terrorism from the country.

Lauding the ongoing operation against criminals and terrorists in Karachi, he said, "This is apolitical and indiscriminate action being taken against target killing and extortion, which is why the citizens have gotten the relief." He added that the operation will continue until the eradication of terrorists.
