ISLAMABAD:

Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid said on Monday that the landslide victory of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate in NA-19 Haripur by-polls has validated party’s success in 2013 general elections.

The minister, in a statement, said Babar Nawaz’s victory was manifestation of the people’s confidence in the PML-N government, while Imran Khan’s claims of “pride of performance” were mere verbal.

The people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa have punished PTI chief Imran Khan for telling lies and misleading the youth, he said. Reminding the PTI allegations about the 2013 elections, he said that there were no caretaker set-ups, ROs (returning officers) in NA-19 Haripur, neither a victory speech by Nawaz Sharif nor ballot papers from the Urdu Bazar printing press, then why did the PTI candidate suffer a humiliating defeat.

Mukhtar | 9 years ago | Reply How can a by-poll decide that 2013 elections were free and fair. That is weird. PTI also won many Parlimantary seats in Punjab in By-poll but they dint say that it validates PMLN's 2013 rigging. That is absolute dumbness.
liaqat ali | 9 years ago | Reply On top of this; the fact that this seat was closely contested in 2013 between PTI and PMLN with only few hundred votes seperating the two while now PMLn candiadte won by more than 40 000 votes. Is this the people's verdict on PTI performance in KPK or their punishment for lies told by IK.Or the bhabhi card and the khan card has backfired? PTI and IK has a lot to think. I being the PTI voter in 2013 stand dis appointed in my ex hero. be
