The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Anurag Thakur voiced his concern over the firing altercation between Pakistan and India in the Nakial sector and stated that 'cricket and terrorism' cannot go hand-in-hand, reported Press Trust of India

"Peace on the borders is essential for a cricket match between India and Pakistan and no cricket match is possible under the shadow of unprovoked firing and bombardment at the border," said Thakur while interacting with the media.

"How can people from both countries enjoy a cricket match when firing and bombardment is continuing at the border?" he asked as he called for presence of a stable environment before scheduling cricket matches between the two nations.

Earlier this month, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, Shahryar Khan, said that he was hopeful that the BCCI will honour the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Pakistan to play a series.

“We hope India honours the agreement. If they don’t, it would not be good.”

Sanjay | 9 years ago | Reply But Pakistan says no trade with India till Kashmir get resolved… then why Pakistanis asking for bilateral cricket series with India and IPL entry for their players? Make it clear that there is no cricket, no trade, no diplomatic relations with India till Kashmir issue get resolved
