Kasur child pornography: Sixth police official suspended over inefficiency

SP Nadeem Abbas was designated 'on special duty' as he was found 'inefficient' in investigating the Kasur case

Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation Kasur Nadeem Abbas was suspended on Saturday for 'inefficiency in investigating the child abuse case properly', Express News reported.

According to details, SP Nadeem Abbas was designated 'on special duty'.

In his stead, Ali Nasir Rizvi will now be posted as District Police Officer (DPO) Kasur.

He joins the area’s DPO and an SHO who had been designated as OSD on August 11.

IG Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera had announced that the SHO Mehr Akmal, had been removed from his post after charges were leveled of abetting members of the pornography ring by sharing information about complainants against them.

He said that if the SHO fails to prove his innocence, he would also be taken to task.

On the demand of the villagers, the IGP also announced that the DPO Kasur had also been removed from his post. Three other high ranking officials of the Special Branch had also been suspended.
