Muslims of Sub-Continent struggled for Independence startng from from 1857 and continued in different forms till 1947, unfortunately its still going on in Kashmir to date. Syed Ahmad Shaheed, Moulana Fazl-e-Haq Khairabadi, Faqir of Ipi of North Waziristan Hur Movement of Sind, Tehrek e Reshmi Rumal are a few references of Muslim struggle for independence. Apart from militant movements there is an enormous political and intellectual contribution of Muslims towards independence of both India and Pakistan. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan laid foundation of intellectual movement that produced generations to be proud and privy of their inheritance, right-after the fall of Delhi. Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar, Maulana Shaukat Ali, Moulana Hasrat Mohani and many, many more can not be named here who never accepted British occupation, fought with every means available to them, finally bring colonial rulers down to leave Indian Sub-Continent. Pakistan was won and hard fought by its gallant revolutionaries, it is not an handout awarded by colonists. The struggle to seek autonomy of Muslim majority provinces which later turned into a demand of separate state has many names as well which we all know of. That final struggle lead by Jinah was the culmination point of a long fight.
