Improving Hygiene: Model carts to be modified
He said that 15 bus stands had been selected for the pilot project
LAHORE:
Modifications will be made to the model carts prepared by the Punjab Food Authority (PFA), Commissioner Abdullah Khan Sumbal said on Thursday. “We will arrange a competition among students of education institutions for decorating the model cart,” he told a meeting he chaired. Earlier, PFA DG Dr Sajid Chohan said the model cart was six feet high, three feet wide and five feet long. “There is still room for improvement in the design of the cart,” he said. Sumbal said that the district authorities would start a project to provide covers at all bus stands in the city. “Around 156 stands already have some sort of roofs. We will ask students of fine arts and the engineering departments of the Punjab University, the National College of Arts, the Government College University and the Beaconhouse National University to come up with ideas to beautify the covers,” he said. He said that 15 bus stands had been selected for the pilot project.
