Gilani arrives in Bhutan to attend SAARC summit

THIMPHU: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani was warmly welcomed by Bhutan's premier Jigme Thinley at the Paro International Airport on his three day visit for the SAARC Summit.

Prime Minister Gilani was given the guard of honour by a contingent of Bhutan Army and was introduced to a long reception line comprising ministers and senior officials.

On his first day, he will meet premiers of Bhutan and Bangladesh, Executive Vice Foreign minister of China and other leaders on the sidelines of the summit.

Gilani will also be holding bilateral meetings with representatives of Observer States, which include the US, Iran, China, and Japan.
