Spate of violence: Nine killed, injured across K-P

Several died in different incidents of violence.

At least nine people died while another nine were injured in separate incidents of violence across the province on Sunday.


In Swat, a minor died while another was injured in separate road accidents. Hafsa Bibi, a minor, was crossing the road in Akhun Baba, Saidu Sharif when a speeding truck ran her over, killing her on the spot. In a separate incident, nine-year-old Umar Zada was hit by a van in Shamak, Khawaza Khel. He was rushed to a hospital in an injured condition.

Bannu

Two people were killed while a woman was injured in Bannu. Muhammad Younas was present in Algara Tarkhoba when unidentified men gunned him down. Domail police registered an FIR and started investigation. Furthermore, a man was killed while his wife was injured when a speeding truck rammed into a car on the Indus Highway near Land Jalandhar. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Riaz, a resident of Chitral. Kashmala Riaz, his wife, was critically injured and rushed to a hospital. The driver of the truck managed to escape.

Swabi

Furthermore, a man was killed and three others were injured when two opposing groups opened fire at each other in Tarlandai, Swabi. Kalu Khan police said groups led by Salim and Majid exchanged fire following a dispute. Salim died on the spot and Gul Muhammad, Hilal and Akhtar were injured. A case has been registered.

Lakki Marwat

One person died while two others were injured in Lakki Marwat. Zafrullah Khan told the police his opponents Murad Ali, Mirza Ali and their accomplices opened fire at his brothers Ihsan Ali and Fidaullah. Ihsan died on the spot while Fida was injured. Meanwhile Gul Nawaz from the accused group said Zafrullah and his brother shot and injured him.
