The accused will be produced before the Accountability Court on December 23, for physical remand to proceed further in the matter.
NAB Punjab had initiated an inquiry on a complaint filed by Pervaiz Yousaf. The complaint alleged that the accused, during his service as constable in the Customs Department, acquired huge assets through illegal means. Evidence collected during the inquiry supported the allegation, after which investigations began. It was revealed that the accused had acquired colossal assets, including a one-Kanal house in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Lahore, along with three other houses in Lahore’s various localities, a Honda City car and heavy accounts in five banks. The accused could not justify more than Rs3 million earned during service. He was arrested on the apprehension of fleeing abroad, for tampering evidence and for affecting the recovery of illegal wealth. Further investigations for the case are in progress.
