Woman critically injured as India violates ceasefire along LoC

ISPR says a woman received serious bullet wounds as a result of 'unprovoked' firing from Indian side of the border

A woman was critically injured on Sunday as India’s Border Security Force (BSF) once again resorted to ‘unprovoked’ firing at Jandrot sector along the Line of Control (LoC), Radio Pakistan reported quoting ISPR.

“A woman received serious bullet wounds as a result of unprovoked fire from the Indian side of the border,” a statement read.

Meanwhile, Pakistani troops befittingly responded to the Indian shelling and firing.

Earlier this week, at least three civilians were killed, and 22 others were injured as India’s BSF resorted to unprovoked firing along the Working Boundary near Sialkot. “The deceased include a 14-year-old and a 22-year-old, named Atif and Muhammad Adnan respectively,” an ISPR statement had read.

Last week, the Indian troops had resorted to unprovoked heavy weapons and small arms firing on the Line of Control in Battal sector.

Further, last month, a civilian had been critically injured as a result of unprovoked firing by Indian forces on the LoC in the Chirikot sector. He had later succumbed to his injuries at the Combined Military Hospital.

Both sides have exchanged gunfire multiple times since last month with at least seven people killed on the Pakistani side by the Indian BSF. Dozens more have been left injured by the attacks from across the border.
