LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge sought comments on Saturday from the Mughalpura SHO on a petition seeking a treason case against former president Asif Ali Zardari, two former prime ministers and others for remarks against Pakistan Army. The judge had earlier sought comments from the SHO at a previous hearing. He was informed that the petition had been sent to the officials concerned for their advice. Muhammad Ilyas Gujjar had filed a petition submitting that delivering a speech against the army amounted to treason. He accused Zardari, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, former prime ministers Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Sherry Rehman of joining hands with anti-state forces. Gujjar requested the court to direct police to register an FIR against them. The judge has ordered the SHO to submit his comments by August 10.
