MULTAN: Police officials have recovered two sisters, Irum (15) and Arooj (7), who had been kidnapped by their relative Sher Muhammad Khan. According to the police, Khan had taken the girls to Multan and detained them in an unknown location.

Their mother Sakina came to Multan from Karachi in search of her daughters and after failing to locate them for a week, she informed the police. Sakina said that the police officials rejected her claim because she had not reported the case earlier. Sakina then approached the media, and a team of reporters took her to the Multan police station, where SHO Jamshaid Akram registered her case on Monday.

A police team, headed by the SHO raided different localities in the district and traced Irum and Arooj.

“We found the two sisters tied up in a room above a tea shop in Multan,” the SHO said, adding that they arrested Sher Muhammad Khan. After further investigations, Khan confessed to kidnapping the two sisters in Karachi. Police has lodged a case against Khan. Irum told the police that Khan had abused the girls and had chained them up for days without food.
