An additional district and sessions judge has adjourned till August 20 hearing of a petition seeking directives for the police to take action against a factory owner whose alleged negligence led to a workplace accident involving a son of the petitioner.
Petitioner Rafiqa Bibi said her 10-year-old son Muneeb had suffered four fractures in her right arm besides other wounds in an accident that occurred after he was made to operate a heavy machine all by himself at the plastic manufacturing unit. She said Muneeb had joined the unit recently. She said her elder son, Saleem, also worked there. The petitioner had contended that the SHO concerned had not registered an FIR on her complaint against the owners of the unit. She had requested the court that the SHO be directed to register the case and prosecute the suspects.
