Paul Scheuring has already started writing the script for the first episode, with stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell to reprise their roles as the brothers who get caught up in a conspiracy. Fox’s co-chairman and CEO, Dana Walden, said about the new series, “I’d describe it as a bit of a sequel. It picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show.”
He added, “The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from the show will be back. I don’t think Paul knows exactly where he’s going over the 10-episode arc yet, but it’ll definitely address some questions that were set up at the end of the series for a new audience.”

This isn’t the first time that a popular show is being revived, as Netflix previously made an attempt to revive comedy show Arrested Development. Fox executives have already lauded Netflix for successfully managing to reintroduce the show to a younger audience.
Prison Break is among the string of shows Fox has or is set to reboot, with the studio previously reviving 24 and a renewal of The X-Files in the works.
