Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar says Karachi operation is apolitical

Karachi Corps Commander Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar lauded on Friday Rangers’ efforts in ‘returning peace’ in Karachi and the rest of the country.

“Rangers operations in Karachi have returned much-needed peace in the metropolis,” Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar said, while addressing a passing out parade of Rangers in Karachi.

The Karachi corps commander vowed that the crackdown will continue until terrorism is completely eradicated. “Terrorists, their facilitators and financiers are the target of the Karachi operation, and we will spare no effort to achieve all these targets."

Clarifying that the Rangers operation is not against any party, Lt Gen Mukhtar said, “Karachi operation is apolitical.”

The corps commander was accompanied by Director General Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar.

On June 18, Lieutenant Mukhtar visited Rangers Headquarters to encourage the LEA in their efforts to curb terrorist activities in the in the metropolis.

The visit had come a day after Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah wrote a letter to Rangers expressing his annoyance at their ‘transgression of powers’ in multiple raids the paramilitary force had conducted at government offices.

According to an official statement, DG Rangers Major Akbar had received Mukhtar, who paid a visit to the martyrs’ memorial, laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha for the personnel who lost their lives in line of duty.

Anil | 8 years ago | Reply How, When, Why is not in question. The question is peace in the country. The law enforcement agency are due for its credit. They put there life for us to bring peace and tranquillity. We should not be complacent to any politician They were the cause of the problem. Politician come and go but Karachi will remain. Any one regardless of their ethnicity political orientation influence or wealthiness should come hurdle in this operation. The day by day life was measurable for Karchiest and the rest of Pakistan. Who can forget the body bags Torture Extortion or bullet riddle bodies in the street of Karachi not long a go.With the exception of few I am sure the majority of Pakistan will greatly support the effort of these Hero.
