US drone kills seven in North Waziristan
This was the first drone strike in the country’s tribal areas in two months

A US drone killed at least seven suspected militants in Datta Khel, North Waziristan Agency on Thursday, officials and local sources said.
According to them, the unmanned aircraft launched two missiles at a compound in the Alwara Mandi area of Datta Khel.
“At least seven militants were killed,” a local official told The Express Tribune while confirming the drone strike. “Another two were injured as well,” he added.
Local sources said members of the deadly Haqqani Network were the target of the latest drone attack. They added that casualties from the strike could rise.
This was the first drone strike in the country’s tribal areas in two months.
The last such attack took place in the Shawal Valley area of North Waziristan Agency on June 6.
At least nine suspected militants were killed in that strike.
