Back on their feet: Nine tribespeople from Bajaur get prosthetic legs

At least nine people with physical disabilities from Bajaur Agency have been fitted with prosthetic legs by the Pakistan chapter of SKW Life for Limb Loss Foundation USA.
This was announced during a media briefing on Wednesday. The conference was attended by representatives from the organisation.
“The beneficiaries included seven men and two women who had lost their limbs in various incidents,” Shah Khalid Shahjee, an SKW volunteer said. “The welfare organisation took nine tribespeople to centres in Lahore to have the prosthetic legs fitted.”
According to Shahjee, the welfare organisation is willing to provide this service to more people who need it.
“Furthermore, we are also planning to provide wheelchairs for people who are handicapped,” he added. During the event, some of the tribespeople who went to Lahore lauded the initiative and thanked the organisation for helping them.
“By the grace of God, I can walk now,” said Ilyas Khan. “I can easily walk three to four miles.”
