LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Wednesday allowed the transfer of the trial of a policeman accused of killing two lawyers in Daska to a different judge. LHC Chief Justice Malik observed that the right to fair trial was enshrined in the constitution. Former Daska City SHO Shahzad Warraich had expressed distrust in the woman judge hearing the petition at an anti-terrorism court. He had alleged that the judge was not conducting the trial in an impartial manner. He had requested the LHC to allow transfer of his trial to any other ATC judge. The policeman is accused of killing two lawyers, including the president of the Daska Bar Association, and injuring another in a shootout earlier in the year.
